Short-Term Parking Lot Rehabilitation
Projected Completion: November 2027
CIRA is completing an extensive rehabilitation of the Short-Term Parking Lot. The project will improve the condition and long-term functionality of the parking area.Construction will take place in phases, and travelers may encounter temporary parking closures, adjusted traffic patterns and changes to pedestrian routes.
Travel Tip: Allow a few extra minutes when arriving at the airport and follow posted signs for current parking and pedestrian routes.
Runway 11/29 Rehabilitation
Project Timeline: 2026 - 2027 Projected Completion: 2027
CIRA is rehabilitating Runway 11/29 as part of a multi-year infrastructure improvement project.The work is being completed in two phases, with the first phase taking place in 2026 and the second scheduled for 2027. This investment will help maintain the runway infrastructure needed to support safe and reliable airport operations for years to come.
Terminal Restoration
Work Began: September 2026 Status: Multi-Phase Project
Following the severe storm on August 13, 2026, CIRA began a multi-phase project to restore areas of the terminal building that sustained damage.Restoration work began in September and will continue in phases. Travelers may notice construction activity and temporary changes within portions of the terminal as work progresses.
Escalator Improvements
Status: Upcoming
Improvements to the airport’s escalators are also planned. Additional information about the construction schedule and any impacts to travelers will be shared as details are finalized.
