Javier Centeno assumed new role as of April 1, 2017
(Bloomington IL – April 7, 2017) The Central Illinois Regional Airport is pleased to announce Mr. Javier Centeno has been promoted to Deputy Director of Operations and Facilities, effective April 1, 2017. Mr. Centeno has been with the airport for four years as an Operations Supervisor. During his tenure in that capacity he assumed additional responsibilities including the coordination of the airport’s triennial emergency drill last July and Part 139 Safety Inspection in November 2016.
As Deputy Director of Operations and Facilities and under the direction of the Executive Director, Mr. Centeno is responsible for planning, directing, and managing all aspects of the airport’s certification, operation, maintenance, and public safety functions. Deputy Director Centeno has direct responsibility for ensuring that the airport is operated in strict accordance with all applicable federal, state, and local rules and regulations.
A graduate of Southern Illinois University at Carbondale, Mr. Centeno holds a degree in Aviation Management. Previously he worked in operations for the Williamson County Airport in Marion, Illinois. Mr. Centeno graduated from the Multicultural Leadership Program in 2015 and is currently Chairperson of the Conexiones Latinas de McLean County and the McLean County Disaster Council.
