(Bloomington, Ill.) The Bloomington-Normal Airport Authority invites the public to join in the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new public lounge on Tuesday, December 10, 2019. The event will start at 4:15 p.m. just inside the main entryway to the Central Illinois Regional Airport terminal building at 3201 CIRA Drive, Bloomington. Locally designed, constructed and decorated by Young Architects, P.J. Hoerr, and Majestic Interior Design under the direction of TLR Associates, the public lounge is the second project completed in the renovation of the terminal mall area after the Illinois State Student Art Gallery earlier this year. The McLean County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will assist with the ribbon-cutting event.
The Airport Authority is excited to open this new amenity that will provide comfortable seating, charging stations, a relaxing waterfall, and great people-watching views. Located just across from the Illinois State Student Art Gallery, the public lounge is for passengers and guests of the airport to relax and wait pre-security. We encourage you to come out and see the new, modern space for yourself!
